About Us
WOMENIT IS A global site designed
primarily to help women find a new career path in the IT industry.
More importantly it aims to find suitable employment for women from
developing countries so that they are not left behind in the digital
revolution.
AS A JOB SITE, WomenIT is an useful
alternative to the many poorly organized "job-match" websites and
in particular where employers (through no fault of theirs) see it
easier to hire male programmers. In addition, this website is design
to match your qualifications and employer's requirements accurately
saving time and efforts.
THE MISSION OF WomenIT is really
to encourage employers to play an active role in providing training
and education to women so ultimately them can benefit from their skills.
It is a well-known fact that software development is not a singular
event. To improve on such aspects, the company must have dedicated
staff. Without dedicated staff, retraining, familiarization cost for
new staff can be much higher.
FURTHER, WOMEN have proven to be very
stable workers and provided their primary needs are satisfied they
can then dedicate themselves entirely to the company. From my experience,
women programmers are more meticulous and patient, translating to
predictable software results.
AS A CAREER search site, WomenIT
was created to help you -- the woman IT professional -- to quickly
and efficiently locate and assess the many opportunities that now
exist. WomenIT is a user-friendly tool to help you identify
those jobs that you qualify for -- and, more importantly, that meet
your own specifications/requirements. You'll find that WomenIT
will lead you directly to more carefully tailored positions than you
thought possible, including incentives that you may only wish for
but dare not ask.
THERE IS NO joining fee for qualified
professionals and companies at this stage. This is a co-operative
site and will continue to be maintained on such a basis for the benefit
of all.
MUCH OF THE work done on this site is
voluntary and we will do our best to update and include interesting
news and more functionality to the site such as discussion boards,
women's rights, equal opportunities and even how to fight office bullies.
