Please Note: As this is a Volunteer Program, there is little to no money involved. Traditionally in Malaysia, when we are sending guests home, we usually invite them out for a grand dinner. Usually, the host pays for this grand dinner but we ask the guest to assume this role as a token of appreciation. Malaysians will often play the " l pay " drama at the time of paying the bill. May l suggest that before the end of the dinner, you take the opportunity to sneak to the cashier and pay for it. This is the best method to show respect and leave the host's ego ( face) intact. This is only a suggestion.
